It can be

Quite simple

For me

To see

That there is

No me.

That there's

Nothing

To find

Inside.

The trouble is ..

I am doesn't want to be

Utterly insignificant.

I am is terrified

Of being

Nothing.

And so

The emptiness

Draws me to the edge

Of nothing,

But I can't step into

What feels like

My annihilation.

I am fears

That I will fall

Into oblivion.

I can't know

That nothing

Is nothing

To fear.

I can't see

That emptiness

Is completely

Benign.

I can't know

That not knowing

Is the peace

And the love

That I've longed for.
